To say our August calendar was busy would be an understatement. We packed 30% of our entire schedule into one month. Shoutout to all our staff members who put in the hours to make sure shows go so smoothly.
We started off our August run with 9 shows in 10 days. BOOM.
This stretch was filled with Ballroom staples, newcomers, and acts that had gone over 10 years without stopping at Hampton Beach.
The country duo 12/OC made their Ballroom debut on August 1. The Maine brothers made some noise in their own backyard. They have since moved to Nashville to work with established country songwriters.
Next came the Happy Together Tour and Brit Floyd, two Ballroom staples. If you’re a fan of music from the ’60s and ’70s, make sure to get to a Happy Together show. The same goes for Brit Floyd: if you’re a Pink Floyd fan, this is a must-see show.
These shows were followed by an all-star bill of Pure Prairie League, Orleans, Atlanta Rhythm Section, and Firefall. They brought their classics, including Amie, Still the One, So Into You, You Are the Woman, Dance with Me, and many more.
Then we had an iconic two-night run with the String Cheese Incident. The setlists for both nights had a little something for everyone, from Close Your Eyes, Exodus, Shantytown, and Look at Where We Are to a closing Bob Dylan staple, Like a Rolling Stone. This two-night run was one to write home about.
The run was closed out by a nearly sold-out Sunday night show with country star Brett Young.
After a three-day break, we returned with a sold-out KC & The Sunshine Band show, followed by Carly Pearce and Face 2 Face – the music of Elton John & Billy Joel.
The third week of August brought the energy: another epic two-night run with Yacht Rock Revue, Get the Led Out—an absolute Ballroom staple—and Dirty Deeds – The AC/DC Experience.
Coming up this week, we have a five-night run to close out 21 shows in the 31 days of August. We have Air Supply bringing their Matter of Time Tour on Wednesday; very few tickets remain for this show. Sevendust and Theory of a Deadman are bringing their Dead / Seven Tour to the Ballroom with Return to Dust on Thursday and Friday night. Friday night is sold out, and Thursday will come very close.
To close out the month, we have country singer-songwriter Chris Janson and One Night of Queen.
The Ballroom continues to be a place where history is made every single night. We could not do this without every one of you fans who steps foot into this historic and iconic room.
