Runner Position 2025 Season Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom

THE JOB -

Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom is seeking a Production Runner, responsible for various ‘errands’ and tasks associated with the talent and production of shows. Confidentiality is very critical to this role.

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO

  • Coordinate and deliver food and beverage to the band or talent
  • Retrieve and deliver equipment, paperwork, etc.
  • Ensure stage and backstage areas are clean and free of clutter
  • Assist with any other aspect of stage production, such as show pass and guest list distribution
  • Assist Green Room Server with any needs of the artist
  • Perform opening/running/closing side duties according to company practice and policy
  • Have knowledge of all music, promotional or special events in the house
  • Handles multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while remaining pleasant and professional at all times

WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING

Required:

  • Must have a properly working automobile and provide proof of insurance
  • Must have experience driving a 12-passenger van shuttling people
  • Must have an exceptional driving record
  • Must have knowledge of touring or stage production operations
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work late and extended hours
  • Flexible schedule
  • Excellent communication skills and punctual
  • Knowledge of the region to properly locate restaurants, stores, music stores, area attractions, etc.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19
  • Some tours will require the runner to be masked and tested with documentation in order to be allowed backstage

Preferred:

  • 3 years work experience interacting with people in a positive environment
  • Commitment to 40-60 shows a season (April to November)
  • Experience in a live music environment or comparable role

Physical Demands/Working Environment:

  • The working environment is fast-paced, often loud, and stressful
  • Position requires extended periods of prolonged standing and working on your feet both indoors or outdoors
  • Must be able to lift or move up to 40 lbs using proper lifting techniques
  • Intensely physical environment

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO

  • Performs the Load-in & out of band equipment and rental equipment
  • Cabling; assist audio & lighting crew as directed
  • Band Set changes
  • Ensure that members of the Band(s) have required items needed to perform the show(s)
  • Responsible for hanging show banners, updating marquees and other signage in the venue
  • Assist lighting & Audio crew as directed by Stage Manager or PM; Spotlight operation if required
  • Maintenance and Repair of Sound, Light and Stage Equipment
  • May assist the Stage Manager with show passes
  • Maintain and secure House Backline, and supplies
  • Maintain curtains, drapes, risers and other staging items
  • Assist audio crew with stands, microphones, cables, etc.
  • Assist lighting crew with fixtures, lambs, gels, cabling, etc.
  • Operate and care for stage areas and venue in a safe, clean manner
  • Assist with any Events operations maintaining venue, cleaning and setting up and breaking down all event chairs.
  • Ensure stage trash is taken out; stage swept or set up for next show

WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING

Required:

  • 1-3 years minimum Tour and Stage Production experience
  • Experience in stage lighting, pro audio systems and basic video systems
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft applications
  • Must possess superior interpersonal communication and organizational skills
  • High School Diploma

Preferred:

  • College Degree

Physical Demands/Working Environment:

  • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs
  • Work in an environment with moderate to loud noise level

We are seeking responsible and motivated individuals to help provide our guests with the best concert experience possible.  Timely and safe service of food and beverage is a major focus of your role.  Positions include bar back, waitstaff, counter service and food runner.   

Prior experience is not necessary.

We are seeking responsible and motivated individuals to help provide our guests with the best concert experience possible.  Customer service and guest interaction is a major focus of your role.  Duties include facilitating a superior guest experience, enforcing house policies, and fulfilling your nightly assignments.  

Ideal candidates for our usher/ticket taker positions will be able to effectively communicate with guests, help them with ticketing or seating questions, and ensure the timely and efficient entry into and out of the building.  In addition, all staff is required to prepare and set up the venue before and after each show.  

Prior experience is not necessary.

Security members may circulate throughout the venue during shows or be assigned to specific stations as needed.  Critical thinking and good communication skills are a must to be an effective member of the security team.  In addition, all staff is required to prepare and set up the venue before and after each show.

Production Assistant for Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom

Job Functions:

  1. Production Assistant, in communication with House Production Manager, will welcome tours upon arrival to the venue, assign dressing rooms, and is the key point of contact for all hospitality needs
  2. Work with House Production Manager, Tour Manager, & Catering Teams to help facilitate hospitality advances
  3. Communicate with and support Production Manager with applicable backstage program budget; Tour Manager/Artist needs; manage receipts accordingly
  4. The Production Assistant will maintain back of house hospitality expectations & backstage area.
  5. Clean and organize backstage area preparing for tours arrival; cleaning after departure, i.e., sweep, mop, new table cloths etc.
  6. Set up each dressing room in accordance with tour rider
  7. Set up catering (breakfast / lunch / dinner /after-show)
  8. Laundry - wash, dry and fold, i.e., hand and bath towels.  
  9. Responsible for checking dressing rooms periodically throughout the day to tidy up
  10. Partner with local backstage catering to ensure the Artists rider requirements are met and the culinary experience exceeds the Artist’s and touring personnel’s expectations
  11. Pre and post-show walk-through with checklist to prepare back stage area, i.e., Artist & Touring crew space; notate any damage to be repaired
  12. Manage post-show food, as required by Tour Manager; Communication with House Production Manager accordingly.
  13. Manage pick-up of rider/bus stock/ hospitality needs at local supermarket (at times will get a list to shop)
  14. Perform opening/running/closing side duties, i.e., shopping, cleaning, backstage inventory, etc. 

WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING

Qualifications:

·         Must have the ability to successfully multi-task in a fast-paced environment while remaining pleasant and professional at all times; meeting facilitation skills are a plus

·         Essential to maintain composure around high-profile artists/guests and work in an often hectic and loud environment

·         Possess a positive outlook, strong communication skills, and the ability to engage others

·         Must have a knowledge of the region to properly identify local restaurants, stores, area attractions, etc.

·         Must have an exceptional driving record, with the ability to drive a 12-passenger van and transport passengers, supplies, etc.

·         Must be able to commit to 50 shows or more during the season

·         Exceptional knowledge of food, beverage, safety, and sanitation standards

·         Must possess strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated experience finding creative solutions in conjunction with the House Production Manager

·         Position requires constant physical activity such as walking, climbing stairs, lifting and carrying equipment; must be able to lift 30-50 lbs. using proper lifting techniques

·         1 year+ of backstage/production/hospitality experience

·         2-3 years of work experience in a comparable role

·         1-2 years+ of leadership experience

·         COVID-19 vaccination is preferred, some tour dates vaccination is required; subject to legally valid exemptions 

Compensation: Hourly rate depending on experience. $15-$20
