Formed in 1984, Tesla’s music is often referred to as heavy metal, but the band is more deserving of the title blues metal, with Jeff Keith vocals calling up those sultry blues songs this country has supported all of these years, and Frank Hannon’s guitar riffs blazing not only leads but thoughtful chords that call on the Allman Brothers as much as their peers like Kef Leppard or Poison.
Coming up through the “hair metal” period of the late 80’s and early 90’s Tesla separated themselves by not being labeled. Their notable version of the song “Signs” was a huge hit with MTV and brought the band from support act to arena headliners.
Today Tesla is gearing up for the release of their next studio album. The album will consist of 6 tracks recorded back in 2005 and 6 newly recorded tracks recorded which include remakes of songs from “Bust a Nut” to brand new tunes “Second Street”.
